Are you ready to take the next step in your career and lead within a high-impact, mission-driven environment? We are growing our Tissue Services department and are seeking an experienced and driven professional to join our team as the Senior Tissue Procurement Coordinator.
In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the operational success of the department through leadership, staff development, and direct participation in tissue donation processes. You will play a key role in coordinating schedules, managing inventory, mentoring team members, and ensuring high-quality, compliant recovery practices, while upholding our commitment to honoring donors and their families with the utmost respect.
This position requires a rotating on-call schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional 12-hour shifts.
Job Responsibilities
· Create and manage employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing and operational coverage.
· Align training sessions with staff schedules and monitor operational impact.
· Participate in tissue recovery procedures, modeling best practices and reinforcing training.
· Mentor staff and per diem team members, identifying training needs and supporting development.
· Support daily operations by ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
· Manage inventory to maintain adequate supplies and prevent expiration of materials.
· Serve as a liaison between recovery teams and internal/external stakeholders when needed.
· Analyze operational data and trends, providing recommendations to leadership for improvements.
· Assist in training program development and collaborate with the Tissue Educator.
· Participate in Tissue Administrator On Call (AOC) rotation, including after-hours support.
· Contribute to quality initiatives, including investigations and corrective action processes (CAPA).
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in health sciences or nursing, with 2 years of healthcare experience preferred.
· Certified Tissue Banking Specialist Certification (CTBS) required.
· Mastery of sterile techniques and familiarity with tissue recovery procedures.
· Strong communication skills and ability to maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.
· Knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and operating room protocols.
· Excellent time management, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech).
· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
